Which is better for web development, Silverlight or Dreamweaver?

I am a web designer and have always used dreamweaver, i have recently came into a job with a small company and they want to cut costs and not purchase Dreamweaver so they want to know if I can use silverlight. I do not know anything about C# or Xaml and I want to know if it is worth my time and effort to invest in learning it, and faceing not being able to use certain programs (flash,illustrator,dreamweaver) i really do know dreamweaver and i could really use the advice on the Silverlight Program.
