Major difference between 250GB HDD and 350GB HDD?

Just bought an inexpensive laptop to replace one I dropped (took to shop it was going to cost too much to repair, figured I would just start fresh). I don't spend a lot on pc's, as long as they have what I need, I travel, have kids, a life that isn't based around treating electronics gently and I worry about theft on the road. Anyway, I literally, last week got a pc with a 250GB HDD and 3GB DDR3 memory. This week I saw a similar model, different make, most of the specs the same, for the same price but it has a 350GB HDD. I have time to return this one if the 350 is going to make a significant difference. I use for word, occasional watching DVD's, CD's, internet, work. Not a gamer, sometimes You Tube. I have an HDMI so I can start connecting to a new TV to watch online stuff, like Live from Daryl's house that I can't stream through Wii, pictures and videos get burned right to CD or DVD... Any thoughts? My new pc is fairly slim, weighs around 5 pounds, I'm ok with it..but ???
